HOMCOM Rolling Kitchen Island Rubberwood Top Light Green 801-161V82LN pairs a solid 90 x 44.5 cm, 3 cm‑thick rubberwood worktop with a compact mobile frame to give a warm, durable prep surface without sacrificing space. Two drawers, two double‑door cabinets, an integrated spice rack and adjustable shelves keep cookware and pantry items organised, while four swivel casters (two locking) provide secure mobility. FastDaddyshop consultants recommend it for rental kitchens and small UK homes where flexible, reliable prep space is required.
Compact yet capable, the HOMCOM Rolling Kitchen Island Rubberwood Top Light Green 801-161V82LN from FastDaddyshop is a practical kitchen trolley for small and medium UK kitchens. Our consultants often recommend this model where extra prep space and organised storage are needed without committing to a permanent island. The unit measures 111W x 44.5D x 82.5H cm overall and features a solid 90 x 44.5 x 3 cm rubberwood tabletop that offers a warmer, more durable surface than typical MDF — ideal for daily meal prep and placing small appliances up to the specified 15 kg tabletop limit.
From the practical experience of our consultants, the combination of two drawers, two double-door cabinets and a built-in spice rack makes this kitchen cart a strong choice compared with single-drawer trolleys. The 3-level height-adjustable shelves (6.5 cm increments) provide flexibility for taller bottles or larger cookware, and the four smooth-rolling swivel casters (two with locking brakes) let you move and then secure the island easily. Based on observations from our managers, customers appreciate the melamine finish and painted surfaces for easy cleaning — wipe with a damp cloth to maintain the look.
Practical cautions: do not exceed the stated weight capacities — 54 kg overall, 15 kg for the tabletop, 5 kg per drawer, 6 kg per shelf, 3 kg for the spice rack and 1 kg for the towel rack — and always engage the locking brakes before placing hot cookware on the worktop. In practice, assembly is straightforward; based on the experience of FastDaddyshop store managers, one person can typically assemble this unit in around 30–60 minutes using the clearly labelled parts and step-by-step manual included.
How it compares: if you need a permanently fixed island, a built-in unit with plumbing or heavy-duty commercial shelving will be more suitable. However, for rental flats, utility rooms or kitchens where flexibility matters, this rolling kitchen island (also described as a kitchen trolley, kitchen cart or island cart) offers excellent value and adaptability. The light green finish brings subtle colour without overpowering a neutral kitchen scheme.
Based on the experience of FastDaddyshop store managers, the HOMCOM 801-161V82LN is a dependable rolling kitchen island for everyday use — a sensible option when you want a rubberwood worktop, flexible storage and mobile convenience in one compact unit. A final practical tip from our consultants: protect the rubberwood surface from prolonged direct heat and use chopping boards for food prep to preserve the finish over time.
