Swing Chairs

Garden Swing Chairs and Swing Seats for Relaxed Days Outside

There's something about a gentle swing that makes an afternoon in the garden feel properly restful, and a swing chair is often the piece that turns a patio from purely functional into somewhere you actually want to linger. Whether you're after a compact single swing seat for a small courtyard, a hanging egg chair for a stylish reading corner, or a larger double swing bench for shared relaxing, FastDaddyshop stocks garden swing chairs and hanging seats to suit outdoor spaces of every size. On our site you can order single hanging chairs under 90 cm wide for tight patios, double swing benches around 150–170 cm for two, and freestanding A-frame swings that don't need a tree or pergola to hang from.

Choosing a garden swing chair: what our customers ask most

  • How much space does a swing chair need? Our consultants often advise allowing at least 1 metre of clearance on each side of a freestanding frame for safe swinging motion, so a single hanging chair typically needs a patio area of around 2 x 2 metres. From the experience of FastDaddyshop's managers, this clearance is the detail most often underestimated when ordering online.
  • Hanging chair or freestanding frame — which is better? In practice, hanging chairs suspended from a sturdy pergola or tree branch save on frame cost, while freestanding A-frame swings work in any garden regardless of existing structures. Freestanding is usually the better choice for anyone without a suitably strong existing support.
  • How much weight can a swing chair hold? From experience, single swing chairs are typically rated to 120–150 kg, while double benches often support 200 kg or more across two seats. We'd flag an expert caution: always check the fixing point rating separately from the chair itself, as a weak ceiling hook or branch is a common cause of accidents.

Once your swing chair is in place, it's worth thinking about the rest of the garden around it. Many of our customers pair a swing chair with a full garden furniture set for dining nearby, add a hammock for further relaxed seating, or bring in an outdoor sofa to complete the lounging area.
