The HOMCOM Sideboard Cabinet with Drawer & Shelf - Cream White 83B-428V80CW is a compact, modern kitchen cupboard and storage sideboard designed for UK homes seeking tidy, versatile storage without a bulky footprint. From the practical experience of our consultants, this cream white unit (78.5W x 35D x 80H cm) performs well as a dining-room sideboard, hallway console or under-counter kitchen cabinet. It combines a large drawer (64.5W x 23.7D x 11.4H cm) with a double-door cabinet (67.5W x 29.5D x 42.5H cm) and an adjustable shelf — a useful arrangement for plates, wine bottles or everyday gadgets.
Based on observations from our consultants, the unit’s melamine-faced particleboard finish is easy to wipe clean and resists everyday wear; the total weight capacity is 75 kg with 50 kg recommended for the top surface, 10 kg for the shelf and 5 kg for the drawer. For households with children or pets, our store managers often recommend fixing the included anti-tip kit to the wall — the kit significantly reduces the risk of tipping during everyday use. Assembly is required; in practice the parts and fittings are straightforward but allow around 45–60 minutes for a single person or less with two people.
On colour choice: Cream White brightens smaller rooms and pairs well with Scandi and contemporary schemes. Oak is preferable if you want a warmer, more traditional look that hides light wear better; Black suits industrial or minimalist interiors and provides stronger contrast with pale walls. Based on the experience of FastDaddyshop store managers, choose Oak if you anticipate heavier or more frequent use (it shows marks less readily), choose Cream White for a lighter, airy appearance, and Black for a modern, statement finish.
Practical cautions: the 10 kg shelf limit is suitable for bottles, stacked plates or ornaments but not heavy kitchen appliances — our consultants often recommend placing kettles or mixers on the top surface (50 kg limit) rather than the shelf. Also check door alignment during assembly; small adjustments to hinge screws ensure smooth opening. FastDaddyshop managers advise keeping the manual for future reference and using the anti-tip fixings on solid walls where possible (avoid only-plaster fixings without suitable anchors).
