Does bending down to tend your balcony herbs and salads leave you aching? The Outsunny Metal Raised Planter on Legs elevates your gardening to a comfortable working height (overall height 45 cm), removing the need to kneel or stoop for routine tasks. Constructed from powder-coated metal with polished steel edges and rubber-capped feet, this elevated garden bed is designed for small outdoor spaces — balconies, patios and terraces — where durability and floor protection matter.
With a stated load capacity of up to 20 kg and a planting capacity of 20 L, this black raised garden bed (Item code 84H-684V00BK) is ideal for shallow-root crops: salads, herbs, strawberries and dwarf varieties of vegetables. From the experience of our FastDaddyshop managers, it performs better than low wooden planters for accessibility and better than cheap plastic tubs for long-term weather resistance. Practical tip: because potting mix and water add weight, our consultants often recommend using a lightweight compost and a drainage layer (grit or broken pottery) to keep the total filled weight within the 20 kg limit.
Expert caution: potting compost can vary in weight. Typical wet potting mix may weigh between 0.7–1.0 kg per litre; therefore, when filled and watered the planter can approach or exceed its 20 kg rated support. On practice, we advise partial filling with lightweight media (e.g. coir or perlite mix) or planting with smaller volumes to avoid overloading balconies — always check your balcony load rating if applicable. Assembly is required; the item is intended to be assembled by an adult (18+), and keep small parts away from children during assembly.
