This expert-curated product guide from FastDaddyshop describes the HOMCOM 24-Compartment CD/DVD Media Shelf, White 836-681V81WT — a space-efficient media rack engineered for collectors and households across the UK. With capacity for up to 1,032 CDs or 594 DVDs/Blu-rays, the HOMCOM 24-compartment media rack pairs high storage density with a slim footprint: overall dimensions are 145W x 24D x 126.3H cm, so it occupies roughly 24 cm of depth compared with many conventional media shelves that are around 30 cm deep (≈20% less floor projection).
From the experience of our FastDaddyshop managers, this HOMCOM CD/DVD organiser is ideal for owners who need maximum media capacity without dominating a room. Made from durable particleboard with a smooth melamine finish, it resists everyday wear and is straightforward to keep clean. Important numbers to note: maximum total load is 40 kg and the safe load per compartment is 2 kg — our consultants often recommend placing heavier items in the lower third of the unit and evenly distributing weight to maintain stability. Assembly is simple and typically completed by one person within 30–45 minutes; anti-tipping straps are included and should be fixed to a wall (suitable for standard UK plasterboard or masonry fixing — use appropriate wall anchors).
Practical advice and safety notes from FastDaddyshop: do not use the unit as a step or seating; keep small children away during assembly; store indoors at normal household temperatures (for longevity avoid prolonged exposure to extremes below 5°C or above 35°C). Compared with metal open-frame solutions, this particleboard unit offers a neater, wipe-clean surface and a quieter home environment for delicate Blu-rays or CDs.
