The HOMCOM Media Storage Rack 24-Compartment, Black 836-681V81BK is a space-saving media organiser designed for UK homes and small offices. This compact unit holds up to 1,032 CDs or 594 DVDs/Blu-rays and combines a robust particleboard build with a melamine finish for easy cleaning — ideal where floor space is at a premium. From the experience of our FastDaddyshop managers, the narrow 24 cm overall depth takes noticeably less room than typical 30 cm racks, making it better for hallways and living rooms where clearance behind furniture is limited. Our consultants often recommend fixing the supplied anti-tipping straps to a solid wall: with a maximum overall load of 40 kg (2 kg per compartment), correct installation prevents forward tipping and damage.
Practical notes from FastDaddyshop: the unit is intended for indoor, ambient-room use — avoid prolonged exposure to excessive moisture. Distribute media evenly (do not exceed 2 kg per compartment) and secure to the wall with the anti-tipping straps provided. From practice, assembly is straightforward and typically takes about 20–45 minutes depending on whether you assemble solo or with a helper. This HOMCOM media shelf (also sold as the HOMCOM 1032 CD/594 DVD storage unit or Blu-ray media shelf) offers better footprint efficiency compared with deeper shelving and is a reliable choice for families and collectors who prioritise capacity and stability in a compact form.
