HOMCOM Slim Radiator Cover with Drawer, Oak 820-398V00AK

This expert-curated product guide explains why the HOMCOM Slim Radiator Cover with Drawer (item 820-398V00AK) is a practical, stylish choice for UK homes. Measuring 78W x 19D x 95.5H cm, this slim radiator cabinet fits neatly along skirting and is 19 cm deep—significantly shallower than many traditional radiator cabinets (commonly 25–35 cm), so it saves 6–16 cm of floor space while still allowing effective heat distribution. Constructed from durable MDF and particle board with a wood-effect oak top, the slatted front allows heat to escape so rooms remain cosy without exposing you to a hot surface.

From the experience of our FastDaddyshop managers, the integrated top drawer (51W x 14.5D x 8.5H cm) is especially useful for storing small items such as remotes or keys; each drawer supports up to 5 kg. The unit’s 10 cm leg height and 16 cm skirting board cut-outs make it straightforward to fit over standard skirting profiles—our consultants often recommend checking the skirting height before purchase to ensure a snug fit. For added stability the cover includes wall-fixing hardware and an easy-to-follow manual. As a practical caution: radiator surface temperatures can reach high levels (commonly in the 60–80°C range), so using a protective cover like this reduces the risk of accidental contact—however, always follow the included assembly instructions and ensure vents remain unobstructed to maintain safe heat flow.
