HOMCOM Double Ottoman Bed Frame with LED & USB Cream (83D-185V01CW) — Ottoman storage bed with RGB lighting and charging station
FastDaddyshop’s expert-curated review: the HOMCOM 4ft6 double ottoman bed frame (item 83D-185V01CW) combines full-width hydraulic storage, RGB LED ambience and an integrated USB-A and USB-C charging station in a cream linen-look finish. From the practical experience of our consultants, this platform-style, hydraulic lift bed is particularly well suited to UK flats and smaller bedrooms where maximising usable space is essential: the lift-up storage compartment measures 190 x 135 x 20 cm and easily stashes seasonal bedding and clothing that would otherwise crowd wardrobes.
Our consultants often recommend an ottoman storage solution like this over a traditional divan with drawers because the gas-assisted hydraulic lift reveals the entire storage footprint (190 x 135 cm), rather than partitioned drawers; that makes it easier to store bulky duvets and spare pillows. The reinforced steel frame and adjustable foot pads support up to 300 kg overall, so this option is suitable for two adults plus mattress. In practice, note the headboard shelf is rated to 5 kg — ideal for a phone, small lamp or alarm clock, but not heavy speakers.
Technical and practical notes from FastDaddyshop store managers: the power lead is 2 m long and the remote control works at 10–15 m (battery: 1 x CR2025, not included). Input is 5V/50–60Hz 2A (10W) and both USB-A and USB-C provide DC 5V 2A charging — suitable for smartphones, tablets and many accessories but not for high-wattage laptops. The under-bed clearance is 5.5 cm, so the primary under-bed storage is the ottoman compartment rather than beneath the frame.

Expert cautions and final observations: assembly is required and involves handling the hydraulic lift mechanism — based on observations from our consultants, two people make the installation significantly easier and safer. Do not exceed the overall 300 kg load limit (this includes mattress weight and occupants). Also consider mattress thickness when calculating the height of the mattress above the headboard and the effort required to lift: very heavy, high-profile mattresses will increase lift resistance and reduce usable storage access. For those seeking alternatives, our store managers often compare this hydraulic ottoman to slatted platform beds (better for ventilation) or divan beds with drawers (simpler access for separated storage). For a balance of full-width storage, ambient LED lighting and bedside charging convenience, the HOMCOM Double Ottoman Bed Frame with LED & USB in cream is a strong, space-saving choice for modern UK bedrooms.
