HOMCOM Double Ottoman Bed with LED & USB Charging - Black 83D-185V01BK — FastDaddyshop expert review
Practical, contemporary and engineered for everyday living, the HOMCOM Double Ottoman Bed with LED & USB Charging - Black 83D-185V01BK is a storage-first platform bed that suits small UK bedrooms and modern interiors. From the practical experience of our consultants, this ottoman storage bed frame is best for shoppers who need a neat solution for seasonal bedding, spare pillows and clothing without compromising on style. The reinforced steel frame supports up to 300 kg overall, while the lift-up hydraulic system gives easy access to a 190 x 135 x 20 cm internal storage cavity — large enough for duvets and winter coats but note that the internal depth is 20 cm when planning bulky items.
In practice, the linen-look fabric and cushioned headboard deliver a soft, tactile finish that contrasts with the rugged metal and LVL plywood structure beneath. Our store managers often recommend pairing this frame with a double mattress sized 135W x 190D cm to ensure a perfect fit. The integrated RGB LEDs add selectable ambience (remote range 10–15 m) and the headboard charging station supplies USB-A and USB-C outputs at DC 5V 2A each, with a 2 m power cable for flexible placement. Based on observations from our consultants, the combination of hydraulic lift, noise-dampening EVA strips and adjustable foot pads makes this a quiet, stable choice compared with cheaper ottoman frames that can creak or require frequent adjustment.
Practical cautions: assembly is required and a CR2025 battery for the remote is not included. The headboard shelf has a 5 kg capacity — suitable for phones, a small lamp or a book, but avoid heavy monitors or speakers. Because the storage cavity is 20 cm deep, avoid expecting space for very thick items unless compressed.
