HOMCOM 55L Touchless Sensor Bin - Silver Tone 851-084V00SR is a battery-powered, stainless‑steel sensor bin with a fast infrared detector that opens within 30 cm for hygienic, contact‑free waste disposal. Its 55 L no‑inner‑bucket design maximises usable volume while a built‑in bag retainer and soft‑close lid keep liners secure and operation quiet; the fingerprint‑resistant finish wipes clean easily. FastDaddyshop consultants recommend heavy‑duty 55 L liners and siting the bin away from direct heat for reliable sensor performance.
The HOMCOM 55L Touchless Sensor Bin from FastDaddyshop is a battery-powered, stainless steel sensor waste bin designed for busy UK kitchens. Its 55 L (55 litres) capacity and no-inner-bucket design maximise usable volume for family waste, while the fast infrared sensor opens the lid automatically within 30 cm for hygienic, contact-free disposal. From the practical experience of our consultants, this model suits households that prioritise cleanliness and quiet operation: the soft-close lid reduces slamming noise and the fingerprint-resistant finish helps maintain a neat appearance.
Based on observations from our consultants and FastDaddyshop store managers, this automatic rubbish bin is a strong alternative to pedal or inner-bucket models when you want a pedal-free, hygienic solution. The lack of an inner bucket increases capacity (55 L) but means liners need to be fitted correctly; our consultants often recommend using heavy-duty, 55 L liners with a secure drawstring and making sure the built-in bag retainer ring is engaged to avoid slippage. The bin is powered by 4 x AA batteries (not included), offering flexible placement away from sockets — ideal when siting the sensor bin under a counter or beside a cooker island.
Practical cautions: install batteries observing correct polarity, replace batteries in pairs to preserve sensor responsiveness, and avoid exposing the unit to direct water or very high temperatures (keep well away from ovens and open flames). In practice, regularly wipe the infrared sensor with a soft, dry cloth to maintain consistent detection at the specified 30 cm sensing distance; heavy sunlight or reflective surfaces nearby can affect performance. For households seeking a stainless steel, touchless kitchen bin, the HOMCOM 55L Touchless Sensor Bin (also described as a sensor waste bin, touchless trash can or battery-operated sensor bin) balances capacity, quiet operation and hygienic convenience in a compact 42.5 x 28.5 x 61.5 cm footprint.
