HOMCOM 100L Storage Box Safety Hinge - Nature Wood Finish 838-480V83ND

HOMCOM 100L Storage Box Safety Hinge - Nature Wood Finish 838-480V83ND

Practical and neat storage with a seating option: the HOMCOM 100L Home Storage Box in Nature Wood Finish (item 838-480V83ND) gives you 100 litres of organised space for blankets, cushions, toys and other soft furnishings. The internal dimensions (75W x 36.5D x 36.5H cm) make it roomy enough for throws and cushions yet compact at an overall size of 80W x 40D x 45H cm to fit at the foot of a bed or in a living room corner.

Built from particleboard with a smooth melamine wood-effect coating, this storage chest is designed for stability and regular domestic use. A flat lid top doubles as a practical seat rated to a maximum total load of 136 kg, while a safety hinge prevents the lid from slamming shut and reduces the risk of trapped fingers. Our consultants often recommend this style of storage bench or blanket box for households that want an attractive, low-profile storage trunk rather than a plastic tub — the finish looks more like furniture and the lid is more stable for seating.

From the practical experience of our consultants: if you need weatherproof or outdoor storage, a plastic storage box would be preferable; however, for indoor use where appearance and a load-bearing lid matter, this HOMCOM storage chest is the better choice. Based on the experience of FastDaddyshop store managers, compare this to padded storage benches — those often provide softer seating but may have lower weight ratings and are harder to clean. Note the storage weight capacity is 25 kg, so avoid using the interior for heavy tools, books or large volumes of wet items.

Practical cautions: never exceed the 136 kg maximum load when sitting; keep the unit out of prolonged damp or direct outdoor exposure as particleboard can swell if soaked; assembly is required but straightforward with the supplied manual. Anti-slip foot pads protect floors during everyday use.
