Compact, tactile and versatile, the HOMCOM 4-Panel Folding Privacy Screen in Dark Grey (Item 830-701V00CG) is a practical room divider for UK living rooms, home offices and bedrooms. The piece combines a pine wood frame with hand‑woven bamboo and paper rope panels to deliver a natural, textured finish that blends with contemporary and Scandinavian interiors. In practice, the four hinged panels bend into gentle curves or straight lines, letting you create a privacy nook, a dressing area or a temporary corridor in seconds.
Key dimensions are important when planning placement: fully expanded the screen measures 160L x 1.5D x 170H cm; folded it becomes 39.5W x 6D x 170H cm, and each panel is 39.5W x 170H cm. From the practical experience of our consultants, these proportions work well behind a sofa, at the foot of a bed or to hide a compact home office setup. Our consultants often recommend allowing at least 5–10 cm clearance from skirting and radiators to prevent scuffing and to allow the screen to breathe.
Compared with metal or solid MDF partitions, this HOMCOM folding screen is lighter and easier to move, yet it is not designed as a load-bearing structure — avoid hanging heavy items from the panels. Based on observations from our consultants, its woven bamboo and paper rope construction creates a softer acoustic dampening than a bare wall, but it will not provide full soundproofing. Also bear in mind: bamboo and paper rope are natural fibres and can be susceptible to prolonged damp or direct sunlight. For longevity, keep the divider indoors, out of high humidity areas such as bathrooms, and away from direct heat sources.
Cleaning and care are straightforward: dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth and spot‑clean with a slightly damp cloth if needed; never soak the panels. For safety, keep the screen well balanced on a flat surface and supervise if used around young children — it is a decorative divider, not a safety gate. Based on the experience of FastDaddyshop store managers, customers who prioritise natural materials and easy storage prefer this 4‑panel folding design over bulkier alternatives.
