PawHut Large Chewproof Hamster Cage - Black/Transparent D51-548V01BK offers a spacious 100×50×52.5cm habitat (0.5m²) with a deep base to hold 8–15cm of bedding for natural burrowing. Chew-resistant acrylic panels with a reinforced metal frame reduce escape risk while transparent sides and a mesh top maintain ventilation and viewing. The lift-up lid and top feed door make daily care simple; assembly is about 30–60 minutes. FastDaddyshop consultants recommend this for owners prioritising enrichment and durability, advising supervision for heavy chewers.
Hamsters and gerbils need space to dig, run and hide; cramped setups or shallow bases quickly limit natural behaviours. The PawHut Large Hamster Cage (100L x 50W x 52.5H cm) answers this by offering a roomy 5,000 cm² floor area suitable for wheels, sand baths and multiple hideouts. From the practical experience of our consultants at FastDaddyshop, this model’s deep base and chew-resistant acrylic panels provide a safer, more durable alternative to typical wire-bottom or shallow plastic cages.
Our consultants often recommend this PawHut chew-resistant hamster enclosure for owners who want a larger habitat than the common 60 x 30 cm starter cages (which provide only 1,800 cm²). The deeper base supports bedding depths commonly advised for burrowing: based on our managers’ experience, 8–15 cm is appropriate for Syrian hamsters while 6–10 cm usually suits dwarf species and gerbils. Acrylic panels reduce bedding loss and drafts compared with full-wire designs, while the reinforced metal frame helps prevent deformation and escape attempts. Note that acrylic resists chewing but is not indestructible — based on observations from our consultants, heavy chewers should still be monitored carefully.
Practical cautions from FastDaddyshop store managers: keep the cage in a stable room temperature of around 18–24°C and avoid direct draughts or strong sunlight. Clean acrylic panels with mild detergent and a soft cloth to prevent scratching; avoid abrasive cleaners. Assembly is required — in practice allow 30–60 minutes depending on experience. For those comparing options, this large chewproof hamster habitat is preferable where space for enrichment and deep bedding is a priority, whereas smaller, travel or starter cages remain more suitable for temporary housing or transport.
