HOMCOM Double Bed Frame with Under-Bed Storage, Black - 83D-220V03BK. Headboard‑free, low‑profile metal frame offers 28.5 cm under‑bed clearance for boxes and tool‑free snap‑fit slats for quick assembly — perfect for student rooms and small flats. Six legs and 12 metal slats support up to 272 kg; plastic foot covers protect floors and reduce noise. FastDaddyshop consultants recommend it where space and portability matter, and advise using a standard UK double mattress (190 × 135 cm) with occasional retightening of fixings.
This HOMCOM 4ft6 double bed frame (item 83D-220V03BK) is a compact, black metal bed base engineered for small UK homes, student rooms and those who move frequently. From the practical experience of our consultants, the headboard-free silhouette and a low overall height of 32.5 cm (190.5L x 135.6W x 32.5H cm) create an open, modern look while maintaining a substantial under-bed clearance of 28.5 cm for storage boxes or seasonal wardrobe items. The frame is supported by six legs and 12 metal slats and is rated to a weight capacity of 272 kg — our consultants often recommend ensuring even weight distribution and using a mattress sized 190 x 135 cm for the best fit.
Based on the experience of FastDaddyshop store managers, this black metal double bed base (also described as a HOMCOM 4ft6 bed frame with under‑bed storage) is preferable to bulkier framed beds when floor space and portability are priorities. Compared with wooden divan styles, the metal construction and snap-fit slats are lighter for moving yet still provide a stable platform for most standard mattresses. Practical caution: do not exceed the 272 kg weight limit and check that your mattress dimensions are 190 x 135 cm for correct support. For quieter floors, the fitted plastic foot covers help reduce noise and prevent scratches — in practice we advise checking and re-tightening fixings after initial use. Our consultants often recommend this model for dorms, loft conversions and compact flats where storage and simplicity matter.
