The HOMCOM King Metal Canopy Bed Frame (model 83D-255V01WT) is a white, spray-coated steel platform bed designed for UK king mattresses (150 x 200 cm). With overall dimensions of 155.5W x 207D x 191H cm and a 240 kg load rating, it’s specified to carry two sleepers comfortably when paired with a 20–30 cm mattress. From the practical experience of our consultants, this canopy frame suits both main and guest bedrooms where a quieter, more private sleep space is required — the four-poster design is ideal for hanging a mosquito net or light drapery to create a cocooned feel.
Our consultants often recommend this metal canopy bed over comparable wooden four-poster frames when you prioritise ease of assembly and lower maintenance: spray-coated steel resists dents and requires less upkeep than painted timber, and the clip-on connections simplify set-up. In practice, the EVA-padded centre support bar helps reduce squeaks that are common with metal frames, and the structure rests on six legs with 12 slats for stability. Practical cautions from FastDaddyshop store managers: measure doorways and stairwells before delivery (box and assembled frame heights are substantial), and allow two adults for assembly despite clip-on fittings. Also check mattress thickness — exceeding the recommended 20–30 cm may alter the visual proportion and mattress/footboard alignment.
