Core Products Freya 2 Drawer Bedside Cabinet in Smoke Oak FR510

Core Products Freya 2 Drawer Bedside Cabinet in Smoke Oak FR510 Review

The Core Products Freya 2-Drawer Bedside Cabinet in Smoke Oak (FR510) is a versatile storage solution designed for the modern British bedroom. Balancing a minimalist aesthetic with functional utility, this bedside chest offers a sophisticated smoke oak-effect finish that complements both contemporary and transitional interior design schemes. Measuring 53.6cm in height, 40.8cm in width, and 33.5cm in depth, it provides a compact footprint ideal for tighter spaces, while the two deep drawers ensure your bedtime essentials remain organised and within reach.

When comparing finishes, the smoke oak effect is often favoured for its ability to hide fingerprints and minor dust better than the stark white alternative, making it a more forgiving choice for high-traffic bedrooms. Based on the experience of FastDaddyshop store managers, the textured manufactured board provides a robust surface that balances visual depth with durability. While the unit is constructed from high-quality MDF drawer components, we advise users to avoid placing excessive weight on the drawer fronts to maintain the longevity of the metal runner system.

From the practical experience of our consultants, the 45-minute assembly time is accurate, provided you have a steady hand and a clear workspace. The inclusion of silver-coloured knob handles adds a refined contrast to the smoke oak grain. Please note that as this is a flat-packed bedroom storage unit, it is essential to assemble it on a soft surface—such as a rug or carpet—to prevent any scratching of the textured finish during the construction process. With an internal drawer height of 118mm, this cabinet is perfectly suited for standard bedside storage, though care should be taken to distribute the 12kg total product weight evenly if the unit is moved across delicate flooring.
