Core Products Freya 4 Drawer Chest of Drawers Smoked Oak FR514-SO Review

The Core Products Freya 4-Drawer Chest in Smoked Oak is a sophisticated bedroom storage solution designed for the contemporary UK home. Blending the rich, rustic aesthetic of a smoked oak-effect finish with clean, modern lines, this unit serves as a versatile piece of furniture for organising clothing, linens, or bedroom essentials. Its balanced proportions make it an ideal choice for those looking to maximise vertical space without overcrowding a smaller floor plan.

Based on the experience of FastDaddyshop store managers, the Freya range is frequently chosen over higher-maintenance solid wood alternatives because the textured manufactured board finish is significantly easier to wipe clean and maintain in busy households. While solid oak is heavier, the Freya’s 36.5kg construction ensures excellent stability while remaining manageable during the initial room placement.

Features:

• Smooth-glide drawers for easy access
• Spacious Drawer Storage
• Smoked Oak-Effect Finish
• Easy Assembly
• Silver Colour Metal Handles

In practice, the inclusion of silver-coloured metal knobs provides a crisp visual contrast to the deeper tones of the smoked oak-effect veneer. Technical data evaluated by our service team reveals that the 15mm MDF drawer fronts and 12mm MDF sides provide a robust structure that resists bowing under the weight of folded garments, provided the drawer is not consistently overloaded beyond its capacity.

Regarding installation, please note that this 4-drawer bedroom cabinet is supplied flat-packed. We strongly advise that assembly is carried out by two people to prevent misalignment of the metal runners, which could affect the smooth-glide mechanism. You will require a screwdriver and a mallet to complete the process, which typically takes around 50 minutes. Caution: ensure all wall-fixing safety requirements are met if you have small children or pets, as with any tall furniture unit, to prevent accidental tipping.
