Core Products Freya 5 Drawer Narrow Chest of Drawers Smoke Oak FR517

Core Products Freya 5 Drawer Narrow Chest of Drawers Smoke Oak FR517 Review

The Core Products Freya 5 Drawer Narrow Chest in Smoke Oak (FR517) is an exceptional solution for homeowners looking to maximise vertical storage without sacrificing floor space. Measuring 40.8cm in width, this slimline tallboy chest is significantly more efficient than wider, low-profile alternatives when working in compact box rooms or awkward bedroom alcoves. Based on observations from our consultants, the Smoke Oak-effect finish provides a sophisticated, modern aesthetic that mimics the tactile grain of premium timber while maintaining the durability of a high-quality, textured manufactured board.

This tall drawer unit offers a height of 107.3cm, providing an ideal footprint for those who need five distinct storage tiers for folded garments or bedroom essentials. Each drawer is crafted with 15mm MDF fronts and robust 12mm MDF sides and backs, ensuring structural integrity under daily use. Unlike cheaper plastic-runner alternatives, the Freya range utilises smooth-glide metal runners, which significantly improves the longevity of the unit under consistent weight. Engineering notes from our product team show that the 316mm x 328mm internal drawer dimensions are perfectly calibrated for folded knitwear and underwear, keeping your space organised and clutter-free.

When assembling your narrow bedroom storage unit, please note that this piece weighs 27.5kg and requires two people for safe construction. We recommend allocating approximately 55 minutes for assembly. Ensure you use a standard screwdriver and mallet as indicated; avoid using high-torque power drills as these can damage the composite material. As this is a tall, narrow chest of drawers, we strongly advise using the included wall-anchoring hardware to prevent tipping, particularly in homes with young children or uneven floor surfaces.
